The McBerns Digital Timing System (DTS) uses an Idec Smart Relay to limit the amount ofwater used by the McBerns AutoWellWasher™. Experience has shown that it is not necessary to run the Washer
after every pump out, to keep a well clean. The DTS
activates the Well Washer during selected pump cycles, The key feature is that it senses what the pumps are doing and will only allow the Washer to operate towards the end of the pump out cycle when the well is nearly empty, the walls and components are totally exposed. Thus a minimum number of washes is effective. |

Trials
have shown that a fatty pump station can be kept clean by a program
of a 1 minute wash at 4 hour intervals using as little as 100 litres
of water per day.
The McBerns Digital Timing System (DTS)
has a second function as the controller for the McBerns Dosing
System. In this mode, the pump sensing ability is disabled,
allowing the dosing to occur independently of pump operation.
The DTS requires a 240volt AC power source and can
control solenoids of various voltages. The unit is designed to be DIN
rail mounted within in the pump station control cabinet.
Factory preset selections are:
Cycle time (frequency of operation): 4 hours
Duration time (solenoid open): 1 minute.
Delay setting (period after pump start before solenoid
opens): 15 seconds
All these settings can be manually changed by operators on site.
